Cyber cafes
2.10 -Finding a cyber cafe. There is a cyber cafe in London on Camden high street Nw1
with 20 computers available with printers scanners and video conference for £1 per hour, its open from 8.00am to 11.00pm. this cyber cafe is the nearest one to me (Bedford).
There is around 20 cyber cafes in Paris to choose from
all of them having a mixture of other facilities to use.
2.11 - Internet safety
There are two main attacks used by hackers workstation & the network
There are 3 ways to hack the workstation:
Instant key logger- the software/hardware captures all the keystrokes that you type on the computer, they could end up with your email address and password!
Network sniffing software- if you fill out your login credentials on a site that is not encrypted, your login details can be read by the hacker via the sniffer capture files at a later time. When logging into a email account, the credentials are generally encrypted. Encrypted data and cannot be read by the sniffer
Phising scams- This is commonly the result of receiving spam emails
Shoulder surfing , you get directed to an identical web page where you would put your credentials.
2.13- keeping intouch
Its better to use online albums to show all your friends what you've been doing rather than social networking sites as social networking sites

You can immediatley recognise that a website is secure by simply looking in the address bar , if it says https its a secure site if it just says http then it is not.
The very top urls that come up on google search are advertisements and they pay to be at the top of the search.
When renewing your passport you need to fill in the form but also have the appropriate documents:

Planning a trip
You can buy an inter rail global pass or an inter rial one country pass from the on line inter rail website.
If your under 25 then its cheaper.
For one months pass it will cost £422.
On most of the trains you don't have to make any reservations but on some particular trains such as the high speed trains , night trains and some international trains they can be in high demand and its better to reserve a seat just in case.
The rail pass is not valid in your country of residence, so if your from England then you cant use the trains in England.
The train will depart from St pancras station in London and then take approximately 2 hours and 22 minutes then arriving in Paris at the Paris Nord station , there are no change in trains for this journey.
The Aloha hostel is situated in the heart of paris right near the Eiffel tower, it costs £18 this includes a free city tour there is no curfew , internet access, lounge area and a tours and travels desk. Recieving good reviews.

Virtual Learning Enviroments
Disadvantages of virtual learning
Bedford college Virtual learning enviroments in compariason to my previous schools are much better and if all schools vle were to the standard of bedfords college then it would be fine, but previously teachers had not kept up with updating them and using them.
- Not all students have computer access at home.
- Not all students can use computers very well.
- Some students may forget there passwords.
- If students are contsantly learning on computers, then things like spelling, grammar and handwritting may be effected.
- Some students dont learn to the best of thier ability in the style of online learning.

Whats the difference between IMPA4 and POP3?
POP3 is a protocol to download and locally store your emails wen your client connects it will download all mail stored in your mailbox and save it to your hard disk. It will then delete the copy that is kept on servers. POP3 is good if you want to keep all your emails in your sent box.
IMAP4 is a protocol used to access the contence of your mail box on the server in real time you can open mails , delete messages , store/save messages from the server and use the system as normal the main difference between them is that all messages are saved ans stored on the server not on your local computer.
so IMAP4 is good if you have multiple computers of devices (iphone/blackberry).
